My Journey: Learning to Cook

I began my professional journey in my childhood kitchen where I found joy in experimenting with flavors and techniques; Nothing was out of my reach. I learned to grill, roast, bake cakes, make macarons, and try flavors. I cared about the why with food. Why did this technique accomplish this color? Why do these flavors work together? If I added this amount of flour what would happen? The science and skill were fascinating to me in cooking. Every second I was baking, trying concoctions with miso or fresh fruit, trying new flavors and purchasing way too much equipment.

Over the years I saw that I could take my love of food and turn it into a career. In high school, I started working in bakeries, doing culinary competitions, and attending culinary programs. From there I studied for three years at the Culinary Institute of America to earn a baking degree and bachelor’s in Business Management. Throughout the years I worked in on campus restaurants, cafes, and kitchens. This lead me to a job with the Walt Disney Company in Florida.

Examples of my work.

I began to work my way up the food chain by working in large bakeries and then into high-rated restaurants. I felt I could grow even further outside of the kitchen which lead me to working for my Master’s Degree. I earned a Master’s of Science in Business Analytics in June 2024. In all this time and growth I had one backing, one supporter, one true light.

My Boyfriend ~ Jarmande

We met while working in college and followed each other to Disney. Jarmande is also an established chef with a passion for food and learning because of his family. He and his family come from a small country in the Mediterranean called Albania. The country is home to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches and unknown food.

Throughout my career I learned a lot about food but nothing could compare to what he would show me. I learned to make my own phyllo, traditional dishes like Qofta, how to live off the land by growing your own food or raising chickens, and experiencing his home country first hand. I would not be where I am without him. He has been my rock for many years and I want to share what he has shown me. His country is an incredible place that I hope everyone has the chance to experience. But if you cannot travel there yourself, I will help to show you what there is to see.

I am still growing in my food journey but together we can explore. I will share my experiences, my techniques, my struggles, and goals. I will show you the wonders of Albania and the wonders of the food world.

Come and have an adventure with me to discover this exciting world!
